The Still Small Voice
On a day where there will be too many words spoken, I'd like to direct your attention to a few words that were written a very long time ago. They seem appropriate . . . at least from where I sit.
1 Kings 19
11. . . And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
12And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.
13And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
Isaiah 2: 4
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.
John 13
34A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
35By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
